About KRNU

90.3 KRNU is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s award-winning student radio station. Operated by students, faculty and staff from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, the station operates 24-hours a day year ‘round from the Roy Lenwell Studios in Andersen Hall on the university’s city campus.

The station signed on in February of 1970 to provide UNL journalism students opportunities to practice on-air and audio production skills and to provide the campus with entertainment, news, information and Husker sports play-by-play. The station moved online in 2006 and in 2008 added a second audio service, KRNU2. Today, the station airs a mix of independent rock artists and local musicians. In addition, students can create and produce their own specialty programming, news content and sports-talk programs, and the station is home to a full schedule of Husker sports play-by-play throughout the year.
